One of the first raw vegan breakfasts that I started making two years ago was apple sauce. I used to LOVE apple sauce growing up and if I knew just how easy it was to make, I would have been whipping this up since I could chop! This dish is perfect to start your day and will give you plenty of energy to stay strong and focused. It is very hard for some people to consume six apples as a mono-meal, but throwing six apples in a food processor transforms them into an easy, enjoyable meal that can soon become a breakfast favorite. I end up using eight apples sometimes because and even then, I devour the bowl and am ready for more! Blending up the apples also allows your body to better digest them and use less energy in the process. I can’t stress enough how amazing it is. The dates/strawberries/cinnamon combination adds a perfect touch that makes this apple sauce the BOSS of them all! ????
Apples are a nutritional powerhouse and contain antioxidants that boost our immune system and help protect against damage caused by free radicals. One of the most amazing benefits of apples is their link to preventing Alzheimer’s and other neurodegenerative disorders, due to the antioxidant compound quercetin. Apples are also are excellent for detoxing the liver, losing weight, and decreasing the risk of diabetes and heart issues. A 2007 study conducted by researchers at Cornell University identified several compounds found in apple peels, namely triterpenoids, that have strong anti-growth activities against cancer cells in the liver, colon and breast. Yields 1 Serving
- 7 Apples, chopped (I used 3 green and 4 red)
- 6 Dates
- 4 Strawberries
- 1 Teaspoon Cinnamon or more depending on your taste
- Add all the ingredients in a food processor and blend until desired consistency is achieved. You may have to stop and scarp the sides of the food processor depending on the size of your equipment. It’s as easy as that! Enjoy! Xx
